She shrugged Melody's hand off and turned to her, glaring as she spoke. Her hand was balled into an angry fist as she held herself back. Melody was her friend. She couldn't hurt her friend just because she was angry.
"I never ignore a threat, Melody. I said nothing about waiting. But I will NEVER use my abilities in the way you're suggesting. I will not invade someone's mind. I don't care if they're a villain or not. Use your penance stare if you have to, but only as a last resort."
She turned and entered a nearby door. Without realizing it, they had walked right up to the observation deck while they'd talked. Astra walked over to the railing and rest her hands on it as they shook.

"Well I don't use my penance stare. Yes I use threats of it but I can't use it without killing people."
She said with a sigh. Melody was rarely in arguments and it was even rarer still for it to be with a friend and team mate.
"And all I was saying was you made it SOUND like you wanted us to simply wait and see what happens. I was just saying we should be more proactive and nip these possible threats in the bud if necessary."
She said crossing her arms. She was just trying to make her point but with Astra getting angry it wasn't easy. She was a free spirit if a little shy and didn't like to sit and wait no matter how it was worded.

She closed her eyes and sighed as Melody came up behind her. She knew Melody was right. She knew this was just a misunderstanding, but Astra hated it when people even suggested she was ignoring something important. She shook her head a little and sighed, opening her eyes and lifting her head, staring out at the city.
"I don't want to wait. We will gather what information we can. You know that, Melody."
She gripped the railing a little, her claws leaving indents in the metal. Sighing, she sat down and put her head in her hands, her claws running through her hair. She was shaken, which happened very rarely. She hated having fights with people she cared about, thinking that they were thinking less of her than they did. She sat for a moment before taking a slow, deep breath. She calmed herself down and looked back up at Melody, blinking away tears.
"I'm sorry."

"I know, I'm just glad we're all thinking the same thing."
She said nodding her head.
"I may have stumbled upon the secret identity of Pandora."
She said with a sigh, thinking back to her run in with Selena. The girl was odd and Melody didn't know for 100% if she truly was Pandora, but she was a suspect. Although she wasn't sure just how much of it was personal hatred against her.
"I'm sorry too."
She said with a smile. She hated fighting with anyone, especially her friends. She was glad it was over.

Astra nodded a little and closed her eyes, sighing. She took a steady, meditative breath, and exhaled, relaxing herself again. As Melody mentioned Pandora, Astra looked up at her in interest, then sensed that she was unsure about her identification. Astra nodded a little and thought for a moment.
"Find out more about her and let me know what you find. I don't want to accuse someone on a slight suspicion."
When Melody apologized back, Astra looked up at her and smiled softly, patting the floor beside her. She needed some meditation after this, and would rather share that with her friend. Once Melody sat down, Astra crossed her legs and rest her hands on her knees, closed her eyes, and started taking slow, steady breaths, centering herself.

"Actually I'm pretty sure it was her. And that was the closest I've ever come to using my Penance Stare. She set me up and had me attacked."
She said with a sigh. Thinking about it still angered her. Especially after she thought Selena had been her friend. She wouldn't make such a stupid mistake again, never again. That was a promise she'd sworn to herself and her ancestors. She thought about this as she sat there. She'd never been one for meditation the way Astra did it. Melody's version was playing music. And sure enough a soft haunting tune began to come from her fiddle.
"Sorry if this bothers you."

She nodded a little and looked up as Melody insisted on Selene's identity. She smiled a little and bowed her head a little. She knew Melody was sure it was Selene, but Astra would prefer solid proof.
"I know you're sure, but I would like it if you brought me certainty. I want to know beyond a shadow of a doubt. Even if it's just a memory, I want proof."
She returned to her meditation, then smiled softly as Melody began playing her music. Astra loved listening to Melody's music, no matter what was happening. When Melody asked if it was bothering her, she just smiled softly and shook her head.
"No, it's beautiful. If anything, it helps. Please continue."

"Well she did practically tell me. I see we keep an eye on her at the very least."
She said with a nod of her head. She continued to play, filling the silence with her music. It was very calm out and she was enjoying this. Especially after the past few days she'd had. Maybe she needed a vacation. But of course when you're the Ghost Rider vacations are hard to take. Not to mention she didn't want to given how she felt the villains were coming together.
"Ah good."
She said nodding her head as she continued to play.
"So how's the recruitment drive going?"

Astra nodded in agreement as Melody said they should keep an eye on Pandora/Selene. She knew Melody would be the one to keep an eye on this person. But just in case, she would send another Titan out to keep an eye on her too. She was glad to have someone like Melody on the team that she could easily trust to keep an eye on this problem.
For now, she just kept meditating as Melody played her music. She was calmed by the song, so glad she had someone with her today. She always had an easier time meditating when someone was with her. Her mind opened slowly and her mind embraced Melody's, drawing the two of them into the state of calmness that Astra always receded into when she was meditating. Melody would see nothing but space all around them, filled with stars. They appeared to be sitting in their own air filled bubbles as they floated silently and meditated. Below them, was a beautiful planet. Just one look and Astra's mind told Melody, this was her home world. The seat of the Shi'ar Empire. This was what brought her peace, knowing that her mother was there, that she was safe, and that she was happy.

They sat in a silence as she played her song. But soon she began to feel a little weird as Astra began going into her head and projecting illusions. She struggled to try and play, still not missing any notes thanks to her power. But soon her fiddle dropped to the ground and she jumped up to her feet, transforming into Ghost Rider.
"Stay out of my head!"
She yelled, flames shooting up to match her anger as she stood over Astra. But soon she transformed back to Melody, panting and looking incredibly embarrassed.
"I...I'm sorry. But she takes any psychic intrusion as an attack."
She said before turning and running, leaving her fiddle and bow where they were.

Astra's meditation was shaken a little as Melody struggled and she started to pull away, but then she transformed and forced Astra from her mind. Astra yelped and grasped her head in pain as Ghost Rider yelled at her. She panted a little and looked up at Melody as she apologized, holding her head in pain. As Melody ran out, Astra blinked a moment before she realized what had happened. Jumping to her feet, she ran after her friend, worried.
"Melody! Wait! Come back!"
She caught up with Melody, touching her shoulder to stop her.
"Wait, please. I'm sorry, Melody. It's my fault. When I meditate, my mind opens up. I didn't mean to draw you in. Don't be upset. The Rider had a right to be angry."

She stopped as Astra caught her, touching her shoulder. She quickly wiped her eyes and turned around to face Astra.
"You don't understand. The Rider wanted to burn you alive, knowing the Penance Stare would have little to no effect on you. Most of the time I can control her but sometimes it's really hard to do."
She said with a sigh. The two basically shared a mind but Melody was in control 9 out of 10 times. The only other time she lost control was when the Rider used the Penance Stare and killed that man who had already surrendered.
"We just both need to be more careful I guess."

She listened silently to Melody's explanation and lowered her head a little, closing her eyes. She knew the Rider was unstable, but she trusted Melody's control over it. She nodded and looked over at her friend. She gave Melody's shoulder a gentle massage and smiled to her.
"I trust you, Melody. I know you'll always keep it in check. You have the strength."
She patted Melody's shoulder and nodded a little at her comment on being careful.
"Yes, true. I should have told you, my mind always opens to those around me when I meditate. It was my fault."
She gave Melody a small hug and smiled to her before turning and staring down the hall to the kitchen, finding she was suddenly very hungry.

"Alright....still, I'm sorry."
She said with a sigh. It seemed the Rider was getting more powerful the more she called on her. She knew she'd have to train more to keep her under control. She was getting to be too powerful and it was scaring her.
"So for future reference you should try not to meditate around me."
She said nodding her head.

She nodded, accepting Melody's apology. She knew Melody didn't mean to attack, and she understood why she was so sorry. She wouldn't hold it against her. When Melody mentioned meditating, she smiled and nodded.
"I'll be careful. Perhaps I should meditate on my own from now on."
She smiled and hugged Melody for a moment before turning and starting back to the observation deck.
"You rest, Melody. I think you deserve it."
She went into the observation deck and sat down again, closing her eyes, and continuing her meditation.
