Another day had started a few hours ago and after waking up Ezra went through his morning routine. It started with cleaning and pruning feathers and of course washing his hair. From there it moved to other basic hygiene, such as brushing his teeth and then he found out what he wanted to wear. The first things on were his pants followed by his shoes, and before his shirt and jacket went on he put on the harness he'd had made in order to keep his wings together and down under his shirt. This wasn't because he wanted to hide them, but rather because wearing clothes without them strapped down was kind of difficult.
Somehow his day had lead him to the park. He remembered the place and how when he was younger his mother would take him out here. Not to play on the playground, but to practice his pickpocketing skills. He was far advanced from that now, but still did it, easily, from time to time, usually if he was bored. This afternoon though was one of those afternoons that he didn't feel up to much thieving and he found himself just walking around the park, before tiring of that mundane activity and sitting down at a park bench.
As he sat he started to watch the other people in the park. His eyes avoided the joggers, even the attractive ones, and went to those that had any type of clothing on with pockets. Despite his lack of desire to pull a pocket heist, he still liked to watch and see who would be his easiest targets. Right now there was one man in particular that fit that bill. He was dressed in a suit, not an expensive one, but nothing terribly cheap either. He had been out here for ten minutes and his phone was still attached to his ear, making him a perfect candidate for a good pocket theft.

Astra walked silently through the park, her wings wrapped around her like a feathery cloak. Her talons clicked on the sidewalk as she walked along, looking around at the people in the park. She closed her eyes as a few stray thoughts intruded on her mind. She sighed and rubbed her temple a bit, getting a couple stray looks from people who had assumed she was an eccentric wearing bird themed clothes. She rolled her eyes at those thoughts and shook her feathers out, startling a few people in the process. As she continued walking, she lift her head as she caught a thought from a nearby bench. Stopping, she turned to look at the man, narrowing her eyes. Walking over to him, she stood behind him and crossed her arms over her chest.
"If I were you, I'd turn my thoughts somewhere else."
She looked down at him, tapping her foot as she watched him. She knew that she could look rather intimidating to humans, especially since she was showing her clawed fingers through her feathers. She watched him silently, waiting for his response.

His eyes were on the man for a few seconds more and went on to eye another park goer, this one a woman. She would be a good candidate, if her jeans didn't look so tight. It was around this time that his thoughts were interrupted by a voice coming from behind him. He smirked a little "It's not polite to eaves drop on other's thoughts" he moved and folded his arms over his chest. "Besides I'm only playing a game." This was let out with a soft laugh. To him it really was a game, every time he pick-pocketed, broke in somewhere, or simply stole something it was all a big game that he was playing.
(i'm guessing that she was behind him when she walked over, so unless he's turned around he can't see her)

She rolled her eyes at his comment and narrowed her eyes at his thoughts. Reaching out, she gripped his shoulder and dug her claws in a little. Her claws wouldn't break the skin, but it would certainly hurt quite a bit.
"It isn't a game for your victims."
She glanced at the girl he was eying and lowered her mouth to his ear as she whispered to him.
"That girl can't even afford proper clothes. She doesn't like wearing clothes that tight, but it's either comfortable clothes or food for her family for the next week. That man in the suit just lost everything in a divorce. He has nowhere to go and all the money he has is right there in that pocket you were ogling. So look at them again and tell me it's just a game."
She squeezed his shoulder again as she finished, her voice dripping with venom as she spoke. Villains were bad enough, but she hated people who thought of stealing from innocents as 'just a game'.

Some pressure was applied to his shoulders and there was a slight feeling of pain when he felt claws digging in a little. As soon as he felt it he channeled his pain into a dog that a boy was walking with his parents. causing the dog to whimper a little and leave Ezra there unaffected. He was still as he heard her whispering against his ear and his gaze went to each person as she spoke about them. Some story about her having to feed her family or something and something about him and a divorce. Honestly he didn't care. It wasn't like he had just decided to start stealing from people a week ago, he'd been groomed for this. "It's a game." he smirked "I'm not actually going to steal anything from them, so take your annoying claws out of my shoulder."
As he spoke he focused his telekinesis on her claws to start lifting them up and off of his shoulders. When he had them off he turned to see just who it was that had been eavesdropping on him. Behind him stood what looked to be a bird woman and he stared for just a second, "Now either you're a mutant or someone told you the wrong day for Halloween."

She glanced over at the dog as it whimpered and lessened her grip so she wasn't hurting him anymore. She glanced back over at the dog as it calmed down, cowering beside its owner. He spoke again and she looked down as she felt her hand getting forced off his shoulder. She brought her hand away and crossed her arms over her chest, not surprised as he stared. Though she knew he was a mutant of some kind considering what he did to the dog. She rolled her eyes at his comment and held her arms out a little, showing him her wings.
"What do you think? Can you do anything other than give your pain to others?"
She cocked her head to the side, watching him silently as she waited for his answer. He was a strange one. He didn't care if others were hurt by his actions. He didn't even seem to care if he actually got anything from them. But he wasn't a sociopath, that much she could sense. Who was this boy?

He already new that she ahd to be a mutant or something like that, how else would she have been able to read his mind, but her showing him the wings sealed that thought. Ezra started to go through and try to remember if he ever saw someone that looked like her at Xavier's, but no one came to mind, and he was certain someone like her would stick out. "What do I think about your wings? Do you want me to say or just have you pry into my mind again." he chuckled a little, thinking that her wings were impressive, but he'd seen plenty of things that could be considered impressive, and had seen plenty of pairs of feathers and wings. With telepaths he knew that no matter what he said, they'd use their power to eavesdrop and know whether or not he was lying, so he usually felt best not to talk to them. "Can I do anything else?" asks as he turns to sit sideways on the bench with his feet up on the bench, knees bent. "Oh I can do plenty more." he smirked. "should I go into detail or does that satisfy you?"

She watched him silently as he spoke and rolled her eyes at the quip about reading his thoughts. She crossed her arms back over her chest and watched him silently as he answered her question. She put her hands on her hips, her eyes narrowed as she watched him.
"I didn't scan your mind, just so you know. If you know anything about Telepaths, you'd know there are thoughts we hear that are all but screamed at everyone by those who aren't in control. That's what I heard from you. I don't read anyone's minds any further than that without permission. Or unless absolutely necessary."
She looked around at the people there, then back at him. She gave him a gentle smile. They didn't have to fight. She hated crime in all its forms, yes, but there was no need to absolutely punish everyone.
"We've gotten off on the wrong foot. Forgive me. I'm Astra."
She held her hand out for him to shake, wondering if he would recognize the name of one of the Titans. She made no secret of her real name. The only family she had could easily protect themselves from enemies. So she felt it would help the people trust her if she put her real name out there as well as Psy Bird.

He listened to her when she told him how she hadn't scanned his mind and blah blah blah. Yeah that was pretty much what was going in. Ezra really didn't care that she hadn't 'scanned his mind.' Scanned or not his thoughts were still private, and her little speech about the man and girl had been about a 6 on the annoyance scale. "Well that's good" he started when she said she didn't pry into other's minds unless with permission or necessary. "that's the one thing that always bothered me about telepaths...reading people's thoughts, their private thoughts when no one asked them to" After she introduced herself and extanded her hand he took it and gave it a shake, "one of those Titans, huh?" he asked as he swung his legs back onto the ground from the bench. "I'm Ezra" he returned his name to her not bothering to add on a last name either.

She watched him silently as she listened to his surface thoughts. she didn't react, though, as she knew that would just annoy him more. When he recognized her name, she smiled a little. It was nice to be recognized. If not for her appearance, if only for her name. She nodded in response as he introduced himself and smiled to him, walking around and sitting beside him on the bench.
"So do you do anything other than pick pockets, Ezra?"
She leaned back and crossed her legs, watching him curiously. She was sizing him up mentally and physically. He seemed in very good shape. Very healthy, too. Perhaps he could be good as a Titan...

"Of course I can do more than just pick pockets" he tells her, adding a laugh at the end of it. Already knowing that she's a telepath he makes sure the thought at the forefront of his mind was that of hockey. He'd played for several years growing up, and was actually quite good at the sport. After a few seconds he watched her as she leaned back against the bench and then the way she was looking at him. "Well, I need to be going" he put his hands on the bench and pushed himself up and off of it. "Nice to meet you" he adds on before starting to walk down the sidewalk path at the park.
As he was walking he felt someone press something against his back. It had a tip, a knife, and the person had decided to wrap his arm around Ezra's neck. The stranger was telling Ezra to empty his pockets. "A knife? Really?" Ezra laughed "you stab me and I swear you will be in a whole lot more pain than I am." After speaking he focused his telekinesis on the arm around his neck, removing it to the man's surprise. In this surprise the man's knife moved, hitting down into the top middle part of his back. He grit his teeth and transferred his pain to his attacker, almost smirking when he heard the man scream in pain. With narrowed eyes he quickly turned around, using his telekinesis to throw him back now. His hand reached behind him and pulled the knife out and he held tight to it walking over to the man now on the ground. "Get the fuck out of here" he growled over pointing with the knife as the man scrambled up and started off.

She listened to his answer and chuckled a little as he made sure to put a specific thought at the front of his mind. It was obviously a plant, but she didn't mind it, since she could tell it was a genuine memory. She glanced up as he stood and started walking away. She glanced over at the bushes as she sensed a mugger, but sat back and watched to see what Ezra would do. She had to admit, she was a little impressed with how he dealt with it, but she was still worried as she watched him get stabbed. She jumped to her feet as the man ran off and she went over to Ezra, reaching out to him.
"Are you alright? Here let me see."
She started to pull his jacket off, trying to see if she could get a look at the wound.

As he kept his eyes on the man to make sure he didn't suddenly get stupid and decide to come back, he heard Astra behind him asking if he was fine. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine" he said when he felt her starting to tug his jacket off. He gripped the front and pulled it forward to stop her from doing so. "I'm fine, I just need to put some alcohol on it and stitch it up, I have thread and everything at my apartment" He spoke, his voice insistent that she stop messing with his jacket.

She frowned as he closed himself off to keep her from taking his jacket off. He mentioned his home and she grabbed the address from his thoughts as they ran through the surface of his mind. She would have grabbed it anyway from his mind if he hadn't thought about it. This was important. It was her fault he was hurt. She could have stopped that mugger or warned Ezra about the attack. But she hadn't and he was bleeding rather badly because of it. She grabbed his arm and started pushing him.
"Fine, we'll go to your apartment, but I'm not leaving you alone."
She glared at him, daring him to argue as she pushed him in the direction of his apartment.

He grumbled a little when she said she wasn't leaving him alone, but didn't argue with her, that glare she gave let him know that it would have been to no use if he did. His apartment was only a few blocks away and as they passed people, Ezra focused his pain on going from one person to another, or from one animal to the next as he walked. It was draining, but it was better than having to walk with it himself. Once at his apartment he immediately went to the cabinet to grab a bottle of alcohol and his sewing kit. His jacket was taken off and tossed to the floor, followed by his blood soaked shirt, with both off his harness was revealed, pushing down a mass of black feathers.
