“Kent, don’t take this the wrong way. But New York women will eat you alive my friend,”[/b] he said with a chuckle.
As their food and drinks were being brought over to them, a loud echo of screaming filled the station. Standing up from his seat, Thomas looked out the door into the terminal where one of the trains sped through it’s designated stop where the people inside appeared to be slamming against the window.
“That train didn’t stop. Something is wrong Kent.”[/b]

He didn't even listen to Wayne as he realised precisely what that sound was. Screams, and he could hear them before anyone else realised what was happening. He stood up as well, watching the train speed by, its passengers obviously desperate to get off. Something was very, very wrong. A fact that Wayne himself brought up moments after.
"I'll try and find a member of staff, they'll know whats going on." He said, rushing out through the door before Wayne even had the chance to object. He scanned the area around him, not looking for a member of staff, but rather, a place to change. He quickly found a janitor's closet, the janitor themself having dropped their mop in shock from what had just happened. He sped inside, and within seconds, pulled off the excessive layers of clothing, hiding them away in a corner.
He emerged flying, moving faster than any train, a definite whoosh as he flew past. Heck, if one listened closely, they might even hear the fluttering of a cape. And if they were somehow capable of it, they would see a man dressed in largely red and blue, and strangely enough... underwear? Not his choice of clothing, he's swear up and down on that. But he'd had visitors from the future, so who was he to question?
Either way, there was a train, out of control, and it needed to be stopped. And from what he could tell, he was the only one capable of that right now.
Swell.
He flew alongside the several dozen meter long construction of human technology, using his X-ray vision to examine the situation inside. Nothing in the passenger cars. Better check on the driver then.

Thomas wasn’t really surprised that Conner had rushed off to find a staff member. Chances were he was looking to get a scoop on the obvious malfunction that was currently happening with the trains so that he had a story to take to his chief on the first day.
Once the small town boy was out of view, Thomas left the restaurant himself to gage the situation. As soon as he stepped through the threshold, a loud ‘whoosh’ noise hit his ears. Turning in the direction of where it came from, he saw a blur of red and blue heading towards the speeding train.
Rushing down to the platform, he watched the figure clad in the bright colors flying along the train. From what he could see it looked like the person was trying to help, which was good because in the middle of the day outside of Gotham he was useless.
So who are you?[/i]

Well, not every day that you stopped a train hijacking in process. "Damn meta-human!" The man yelled, pulling out a firearm, shooting at Connor through the glass, which shattered after a few shots. However, the bullets merely bounced off Connor, and he could hear a small gulp come from the crook. A quick burst of heat vision forced the man to drop his weapon, which landed by the now unconcious driver.
Before the crook could react next, Connor had already flown in, and delivered a straight right hook to his face. And from a man like Connor, this guy wouldn't be getting up again for a while. "Now, let's hit the br-" Bullet holes were where the brake controls should've been, and looking ahead, he could see construction work. "Well, crud." He muttered, shutting down the engine, but without the brakes, it was likely the thing would crash anyway.
"Time to apply the manual then." He flew outside again, and then a bit in front of the train. He grasped the front with both hands making sure his grip was firm, before beginning to push back on the train. When a guy can fly, it gets a lot easier. But he couldn't push too hard, or the train (at least parts of it and the passengers anyway) would simply go flying. He'd be cutting it close here, but he had to try...

Thomas watched as the red and blue figure turned into a small blur before disappearing in front of the train. After what seemed like forever, which was actually only a couple minutes, the train slowed to a stop.
Wow. Rainbow light bright actually stopped the train. That’s quite impressive.[/I]
Along with the rest of the onlookers on the platform, Thomas began to clap. All around him the clapping grew louder as people began to cheer. It seemed that the Big Apple had found a new hero to help take care of her.
Stepping away from the platform, Thomas separated himself from the crowd, and started looking around for one person in particular. However, Thomas had no luck spotting the man from Smallville.
Nice reporting job Kent.[/i]

Connor breathed a sigh of relief as the train finally came to a halt. There'd been some tension, but he'd pulled it off in the end, for which he was thankful. And then there was the clapping. One by one, people began to applaud the feat of superhuman strength, which made him feel awkward. But still, he (guessed) he had a job to do, and began scanning the train to make sure noone was injured. Thankfully, that was very much the case.
Work done, Connor pulled the train slowly but surely back towards the station, allowing everyone to disembark. "Everyone, I believe this is your stop." He said, also hearing the sound of police sirens approaching. Well, they could arrest the crook then, whilst he got back to being Connor Kent. He flew into the janitor's closet in which he had first changed, making sure to do so fast enough for noone to notice. And then he emerged, a nervous country boy who had just missed all the action.
"I-I couldn't find a member of staff, and then I got lost in the crowd." Connor said, running up to Mr Wayne, before looking and seeing that the train was in fact back at the station. "What happened here? Someone tug the train all the way back to the station or something?" He asked, gesturing towards the disembarking passengers.

He had been wandering around the platform for several minutes when he finally noticed Conner running towards him. He kind of felt bad for the country boy. It was his first day in the city and he had missed one hell of a story.
“You missed the whole thing Kent,”[/b][/I] he said as he watched the rescue crews and police rushing towards the platform. “You know Kent, if you are going to make it in this city then you are going to need to be more on the ball than this,”[/b][/I] he added with a chuckle.
Turning away from Kent, he turned his attention to the platform, and he watched as events unfolded with the criminals from the train being apprehended and the hostages getting off onto the platform. It seemed that while he was in New York that he would have some work to do besides just some charity work for the Wayne Foundation.

OOC: Apologies for the late post
"I guess I will." Connor gave a rather weak laugh, just to go along with Wayne's. After the laughter died down and Wayne went back to checking on the condition of the the train, Connor took a look at his watch. Guess he didn't have that time to spare anymore. "Well... I have to get going really. Can't really afford to be late for my first day at work. It's been nice m-meeting you. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day." Kent said, running back to the restaurant where his stuff still was.
He picked up the case and coat, made sure nothing had been stolen, before making his way out with a smile. He'd been nervous about the reaction to his hero moment in the city. It could have gone all so horribly wrong. To meet such an applause... it made him smile. "Maybe I made the right choice..." He said, leaving the station, and emerging into the city beyond. This was gonna be his home... his future...
