Kaylee-Anne was just coming out of class and walking down the hall when something caught her eyes. A door she'd usually noticed to be closed was open slightly and a light shone through it. She walked over to the frame and peeked inside.
Inside the wall seemed to be lined and decorated with pictures and suites and things. She glanced backward over her shoulder before pushing on the door and slipping inside.
The dimly lit room had glass cases, each holding in it a strange suite of some kind with pictures and memorabilia.
Kaylee-Anne looked around, noticing a few famous people. Wolverine, Jean Grey... but when her eyes fell on a tattered brown jacket and several packs of playing cards she gasped and almost dropped the books she carried.
Her father. A picture of him made her slowly creep closer for a better look...
So her father had been an X-Men...

Rain was wondering the halls of the Institute after returning from New York. It was not a trip Rain was soon to forget. She had run into an old friend and into an interesting young man while there. Rain was passing the X-men memorial room when she notice the door was open and that a young lady she was not familiar with was in there.
"Hello. There is a light so you can see better if you want," Rain told her. Rain was familiar with all the memorials. She had been here many times with mom and by herself. Rain pushed the door all the way open so more light from the hall filled the room. "There is a lot of history in this room. Not all you can see," Rain told her. Rain was wearing a gentle smile as she looked around. "Remy there was said to be one of the best," Rain told the girl.

Kaylee-Anne turned around to see a woman with long white hair. She worried at first that she shouldn't be in there, but the lgihts turn on and the woman seemed to act as if it was fine to be there. She turned back again to look up at the memorial to her biological father. '
Remy there was said to be one of the best.'
"The best? The best X-Men?" Kaylee-Anne asked, her voice soft as she considered him. She'd seen pictures, but this was the first time she'd actually been so close to something he'd once touched. She reached up and put her hand on the glass over the cards as she continued to look it all over. The lights in the room started to turn brighter.

"One of the best X-men, among other things," Rain stated with a chuckle. "My mom has told me many stories about Remy. I meet him when I was younger, he was very charming. Is there a reason that you are so interested in him?" Rain asked. Rain notice how the girl seemed to try and get as close as she physically could to Remy's belongings.
"Careful you do not break the glass," Rain told her. "I am not sure how fragile the clothes are now. We try to preserve them the best we can but, time still takes a toll on them," Rain told her. Rain let out a sigh as she looked around. Almost every person that was in the room Rain had meet when she was a little girl. Some, though, had died long before Rain was born.
Rain walked over to a plaque that had a picture under it. There was no suit with it because the suit was preserved in Wakanda. The was a second suit that was preserved at the Avenger's Mansion Museum. He was never part of the X-men but, he was given a place of honor since he had financial helped the Institute and his wife was a long standing member of the Institute. The picture had been taken shortly before T'Challas death. It showed a young Rain, her twin brother Kehinde, Ororo and T'Challa. T'Challa had one arm wrapped around Ororo and the other on Kehinde's shoulder. Rain had both her mother's arms around her as Ororo was leaning into T'Challa's embrace. All four had happy smiles on. They were all dressed in traditional African clothes. It had been a sunny day that the family had enjoyed to the fullest.

Kaylee-Anne turned to look at the woman again with large eyes. "You met him?" She felt both excitement and jealousy at hearing this. Her whole life Kaylee-Anne had wanted to know who her father was, but by the time she found out it was too late.
"He was... my father." She said looking back at the glass case and lowering her hand with a sigh. As she did the lights dimmed again. She knew she needed to keep it under control before she did break something and damage the artifacts that had been so carefully preserved.
"I wish I could have met him."

"Yes, he was a close friend of my mother's and he visited us a few times when I was younger. He perished with my father in the great fight. My mom tells me he was like a brother to her," Rain told the girl.
"Really?" Rain asked surprised when the girl stated Remy was her father. "I have some pictures of him that my mom gave me of him if you want some. I am sure my mom would like to meet you. She could tell you some interesting stories about him," Rain told the girl. Rain tilted her head as the lights dimmed again. "I am sorry you can not meet him but, I am sure my mom would like to meet you and she knows more about then anyone else I know," Rain told her.

Kaylee-Anne turned towards her and nodded. "I'd like that. I never knew him I was kind of a... one night in Vegas baby." She wasn't really ashamed of where she'd come from. She loved her mother and was appreciative of her life. It was just one of those things. "She didn't tell me who he was until it was too late and he was gone."
Shifting, Kaylee-Anne pressed her glasses back up onto the bridge of her nose and smiled. "I'm Kaylee-Anne by the way, but most everybody calls me Shocks."

"I am sorry to hear that. I am sure my mother will answer many of the questions that you have about your father. She thought of him like a brother and has many tales of him," Rain told her. Rain had only a couple of memories of Remy but, knew her mother had many that she would probably enjoy sharing with Kaylee.
"Rain T'Challa also known as Black Tempest," Rain told her putting out a hand for Kaylee to shake. "If you have any questions I will try to answer them the best I can," Rain told her with a bright smile.
