Christmas at the Institute (open)

[Rain T'Challa]

Rain was finishing decorating for the Christmas Party. She was currently floating roof level placing some last minute decorations up. There was garland hanging down along with Christmas lights from the eves. There was a lone Palm tree that had lights wrapped around its trunk and ornaments from it branches. Ororo had taken the time to come visit her daughter and helping Rain with the last minute decorations. She had just placed a bowl of punch on of the picnic tables that where covered by Christmas table clothes.

"I think we are done, mom," Rain stated as she softly landed on the ground. She looked over the preparations the back yard was now showing Christmas colors and decorations. Rain had gotten permission to decorated the backyard for the party. There where gifts pilled on a picnic table under the one decorated Palm tree.

"It appears that way, Rain. I believe that it almost time for your friends to arrive," Ororo pointed out. Rain nodded and gave her mom a hug which Ororo returned. Rain then stepped back as she heard someone approaching.

[Wyld Katt]

Once it was dark enough Daniel had made his way from his hotel to Xavier's. He'd gotten the invitation a while ago and had quickly RSVP'd. He didn't get to go to many parties and a Christmas party/class reunion sounded like a lot of fun. He'd made sure to feed on his way there so there wouldn't be any awkwardness of him trying to feed on a former or current student. He had done a bit of Christmas shopping, just enough for those he was close to, so pretty much all women.

"Wow Rain looking good."

He said walking in with a smile. He was wearing a black suit with a blue tie and for once his long hair was actually tied back in a ponytail. He set his presents down and smiled.

"And Ororo, also loooking good and a long time no see."

[Arik "Lucifer" Creed]

A light sigh escaped Arik's lips as he walked through the doors of the Institute. He did live here after all. He had gone out for some last minute Christmas shopping and saw Rain and her mother finishing up the decorations. He walked into his room and wrapped the presents rather quickly before he showered and got into his outfit for the evening. It consisted of black dress pants and a nice red button down. He was going for semi formal and it seemed to be working quite well as he slipped on red socks and dress shoes. He nodded and grabbed the presents before walking out of the his room and down the hall to where the Christmas party would be held. He smiled a bit and set the presents down. "Rain, Ms. Ororo, these decorations look fantastic," he said with a respectful smile. Arik had always felt somewhat horrible for the things that his father had done to the X-Men and since he was part of New X, he always made it a point to show the past X-Men the deepest respect, especially Ororo, whom he believed to be was a very beautiful and powerful woman.

Arik turned and looked at the man who had walked through the door. He remembered him briefly. His name was Wyld Kat if he remembered correctly. The two of them had never actually spoken before and Arik was a little weary of him to begin with. His feral instincts told him he was interesting and to not take him lightly, which was a good idea from what the young mutant had heard. Arik looked around the room before he gazed at Rain again. "So who all is coming again, Rain?" He asked before there was a knock on the door. Arik paused a moment before he held up his hand to Rain, telling her that he would answer it. He walked up to the door and opened it. "Welcome!" He said with a smile before seeing a purple, fuzzy creature in front of him. His smile grew. "Liezel!" He exclaimed happily.

[Liezel "Nightprowler" Wagner]

Liezel had been waiting at the beach where she and Warren had their encounter last for him to show up. She had had a feeling that he wouldn't show, but she had invited him anyway. Yes, Liezel Wagner had invited the infamous Warren Worthington IV to the Christmas party at the Institute, but he hadn't arrived at the meeting place, so, she assumed that he wouldn't be coming. She looked around at the waves before she closed her eyes and with a BAMF! and a cloud of smoke, Liezel was standing back inside her apartment. She grabbed the presents that she had wrapped for everyone and BAMF!ed to Warren's business place. She left him a neatly wrapped present on his desk in his office before she teleported to the doors of the Institute.

A light sigh escaped her lips as she waited a moment before she knocked on the door. Within minutes the door flew open and Liezel was greeted by the smiling face of Arik Creed. A light laugh escaped her lips when she saw his smile widen and him exclaim her name. "Hello Arik," she said happily before he moved aside to let her in. She stepped inside and he took the presents from her and led her inside. He set her presents down and Liezel smiled at Rain. "Hello Rain, Ororo," she said with a bright smile. Leizel had decided that her Image Inducer wasn't necessary for this event seeing as everyone knew that she was Nightcrawler's child. She turned though and blinked when she saw Daniel. "Hello Daniel," she said, not expecting to see him at the Christmas Party. She wasn't sure why she hadn't expected him to be there, but she hadn't.

[Karrl 'Camaxtli' Garm]

Cam had heard, pretty much as soon as he joined the Titans, that there was a party and they were invited. Karrl being Karrl could not resist a part, he doubted that there would be booze, but he would make it his mission to make sure the party was as lively as he could make it. He sent his invitation back saying he was coming, that was a few days ago and he hoped it had gotten to the mansion.

He had asked around the tower what this place was like and who were New X, what he heard impressed him, well, just a little. So since he was going to a mansion and he was going to have to make a good impression he decided to do a little shopping. He picked up the smartest gear, well, the smartest he would be caught in. He had changed the trench-coat he normally wore for a denim jack, his black jeans where changed to match his jacket in the form of a pair of plain denim jeans. His tank-top was changed for a black button up shirt and his boots were still boots, but instead of knee highs they were ankle boots. He still wore his trademark sunglasses though. Also, since he was going for a smart look, his long, silver hair was tied up into a braid.

It was time for him to make his arrival. He had gotten the address for this place and put it into his GPS and gotten there in good time. He had just seen Liezel enter the place. He waited for a minute or two before pulling into the mansion’s car park on his baby, his Suzuki TU250. He looked around for a second or two, taking in the mansion before getting off his bike. He then went to grab a package from the back, a little present; it was for the house more then anything, since he would not know a soul in this place. Since it was a mansion they would have loads of paintings, if the movies got it right, so, even with that in mind he got them another one.

Taking in the grounds one more time he walked up to the door and pressed the doorbell. He shifted the painting under his arm, making sure not to rip the wrapping. He waited there, he hoped he would make a good impression, but more so, he hoped there were some good looking girls he could flirt with, well, that’s just Camaxtli.

[Superboy]

He had been debating for a while on whether or not to attend the Christmas party that was being set up at the Xavier Mansion by New X. He even used his League ring to travel to his time again to talk things over with his mother who suggested that he go and spend Christmas with people his age.

So while he was back in his time, he grabbed some generic gifts from the future for people who would be at the party, and returned to the present. Showering quickly, Dan-El changed into a pair of faded blue jeans and threw on a black button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and packed up all the presents. Then faster than a speeding bullet, the young Kryptonian made his way to California from the Fortress.

As he arrived he noticed that another member of the Titans had already arrived. It seemed that Daniel would at least know somebody at the party, even if he had only met the guy once. Landing on the ground behind Karrl, he walked up behind him, and gave him a quick pat on the back.

“Merry Christmas partner,”[/b] he said with a bright smile as he looked at the silver-haired man. “Glad I’m not the only Titan around.”[/b]

Adjusting the large sack on his shoulder, he waited patiently for someone to answer the door.

[Karrl 'Camaxtli' Garm]

Cam's ears perked up as he heard something behind him. From behind his glasses his eyes narrowed and one of his fists closed, guess the saying's true, you can take to boy out of the gangland but you can't the gangland out of the boy. He then felt a pat on his back and was about to turn around and smack the guy, until he heard the guy's voice.

When he heard the voice he uncleanched his fist and his eye unnarrowed and was replaced by a smile. He turned around slightly so he could look at Superboy from sideways on. He pushed his sunglasses down slightly so he red and hazel eyes could take in his "partner" as he spoke,

"Yeah mate, also 'ere's 'oping d'a girls are cute..."

He pushed his sunglasses back up,

"It's Dan right?"

[Rain T'Challa]

"Hello Wyld, nice to see you again," Rain told him. Rain was not too surprised that Wyld was the first one that showed up to the party.

"It has indeed been awhile," Ororo agreed. She did not hold what his mother did against him. "How is everything?" Ororo asked him. Arik arrived soon after Wyld and and he greeted them and complimented the decorations. "Please, just call me Ororo," Ororo told Arik with a smile. Despite what his father had done Ororo felt Arik was indeed trying to be a member of the team.

"I am hoping most of New X and the Titans along with some New X alumni," Rain told him. She turned when she heard a knock but Arik signaled he would answer it. "Thank you," she told Arik. Arik soon returned with Liezel with him. "Liezel! I am so glad you made it!" Rain told her going to wrap her in a hug.

"It is good to see you again Liezel, how is everything?" Ororo asked her. Ororo had been a close friend to Liezel's father when he was alive and knew he would be proud of his daughter.

Rain heard the doorbell ring and went to answer it. She opened it to see a couple of the Titan members. "Hello and welcome to the Institute. My name is Rain T'Challa. The party is the backyard, if you would be so kind as to follow me I will lead you to it," she told them with a smile. She was happy that some of the Titans had arrived to the party. She hoped that Astra would join them to.

[Superboy]

“Yeah Karrl. It’s Dan, but you can call me Danny,”[/b] he said to his teammate.

Then the door opened up and there stood an ebony beauty that he already knew at Rain T’Challa. While he had never met Rain before, he had seen pictures of her and heard about her work. He had to admit that he was certainly impressed by the workings that she and New X had done.

“Thanks for the invite Rain,”[/b]] he said with a bright smile as he followed her into the mansion. “This is a pretty sweet spot that you guys have set up.”[/b]

Looking around the mansion as they walked through, he noticed groups of students in tuxes and dresses running around and conversing with one another. It was then that Daniel felt very under dressed for the gathering.

“Oh. I almost forgot. I brought presents for everyone,”[/b] he said, referring to the sack that was slung over his shoulder.

[Ghostrider]

Melody had transformed and used that to travel quickly to the mansion. Once about a block away she turned back to her normal self sending Shadow off to disappear into a shadow. She adjusted her dress, yes she actually wore a dress. She was tired of people giving her crap for dressing like a tomboy so she opted for the more girly look with a black and red dress but with her normal boots. As she walked around back she smiled, seeing everyone there and dropped off her presents on the table. She quickly walked over to Danny and Cam, smiling.

"Good to see I'm not the only Titan here. I wonder if Astra will show."

She said with a shrug before waving to Rain.

[Wyld Katt]

He looked over and smiled seeing Liezel in her true form.

"Liezel, looking beautiful as always."

He said approaching her and smiling. He was glad she hadn't used the inducer. He knew she usually did although really didn't know why.

"I haven't seen you since that business in New Jersey, I hope your men are alright."

He said with a smile knowing both sides had taken heavy casualties in that mission. It was a real shame too, it kind of put a damper on any possible new work between the two but knew it would happen eventually. He hated knowing that but it was what had to be done.

[Arik "Lucifer" Creed]

Arik smiled happily at Liezel and Rain when they hugged. He was glad that things hadn't changed very much between the two of them since Liezel left to go be the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. not that anyone really minded. It was good to know that a mutant was now controlling it. He smiled at Ororo, nodding his head in response to her words. "Yes, ma'am," he said respectfully before a knock came on the door. He watched as Rain went to answer the door and stayed closely to Liezel. It was just the way that he was, especially with Daniel approaching her. Not that Arik didn't like Daniel, he just knew that Daniel was a flirt and sort of a player and he wasn't about to let Liezel be had in any way that would hurt. She was too nice of a girl to let her get hurt, especially by someone that she knew and would possibly have to work with him anytime soon.

Arik's eyes hadn't left the door as he stood next to Liezel. He smiled a little when Rain's eyes lit up as she opened the door and she invited all of the Titans in. There were three of them from what Arik could see and he believed there were six team members. Where are the other three? He thought to himself before they all walked inside. He heard one of them, Superboy if he remembered correctly, say that he had presents for everyone. Arik raised his eyebrow a moment before he looked away from them and looked back towards Liezel and Daniel. His eyes then went to everyone else at the party. The girl who was with the Titans seemed to be innocent enough, almost like Kaylee-Anne and the male, well, he looked like another guy that he'd have to keep off of Rain and Liezel.

Liezel smiled happily and hugged her friend. "But of course! Why wouldn't I show up?" She teased happily before she turned and looked at Ororo. She smiled at her gently and bowed her head in respect. "It's nice to see you as well, Ororo. Everything is fine, thank you. How are things with you?" She asked, wanting to know more about the woman who was friends with her father. After hearing Ororo's response, Liezel looked at Rain and blushed gently. "I, um, hope you don't mind, Rain, but...I invited a guest. I'm not sure if he'll show up, but I invited him anyway," she said, her blush practically giving away who she had invited, not that she cared all that much. She was sure that Ororo and Rain knew of her huge crush on Warren Worthington IV, or Dreadwing.

Liezel turned and smiled at Daniel when he spoke to her and said that she was looking beautiful as always. She blushed gently before hearing another knock on the door. She looked over at the door and saw that a few Titans had come, Superboy being one of them. She grinned and waved at him, though she wasn't sure if he would even know who she was. She then looked back at Daniel and nodded. "Yes, my men are fine, thank you. How are yours?" She asked, blinking at him a moment before her eyes went back towards the door as Superboy put presents down. Liezel then realized that Arik hadn't left her side and she giggled, shaking her head at her friend. Oh brother, silly Arik, she thought before looking back at Daniel, waiting for his answer.

[Karrl 'Camaxtli' Garm]

Cam smiled at Danny when he told him to call him so. He then gave him a firm pat on the back. He liked the guy, he seemed on the ball, and also, from what he had heard of the guy, he was a bit of a ladies’ man, like him. He was still waiting for the door to be opened when he said he next words,

“Well Danny Boy, let’s ‘ave us a lil fun.”

With those words the door opened and he looked towards the door, and what he saw he liked. He could not help but crack one of his cheeky yet, utterly charming smiles as he took off his sunglasses so he could have a better look at the beauty in front of him. He was leaning against the was as he took in the people, more so the group of cute girls in the mansion,

“Hey, I’m Camaxtli, but y’a can call me Cam, it’s a pleasure t’a meet y’a.”

He then extended his hand out to Rain and his smile was still on there. His Complete Heterochomia eyes seemed to dance with mischief, well, they always did. He then adjusted the wrapped painting underneath his arm and then lifted it up to presented it to Rain. He was not sure if she ran the place, but he had a feeling she organized the party, so it would be good manners to give her his little present,

“I didn’ know anyone ‘ere so I kindda got a present f’a d’a ‘ouse, ‘ope y’a like.”

As he said those words he heard a familiar voice and turned to see if it was the same person he thought it was, and it was, who he thought. He smiled at Melody as he took her in with his eyes in the dress she was in, which he liked, very much so,

“Hey Melody, glad y’a could make it.”

[Superboy]

“Hey Mel,”[/b] he said with a bright smile as his eyes looked her over. “You look good in a dress.”[/b]

He flashed her a wink, before looking around the party for anyone else he might have recognized. He had no luck however and it seemed that besides Wyld Katt and his teammates, he didn’t know a single other person. And even though he did have his differences with Astra, he kinda wish she did show just so that there was someone else he knew there.

“Well if she shows, she shows,”[/b] he said with little enthusiasm. “Honestly, having Astra and I in the same city right now probably isn’t the best thing. Not after the meeting that her and I had the other day about the whole situation with Elysia.”[/b]

He knew that his teammates knew that something had happened between Astra and Elysia, but he didn’t know just how much they knew. If they wished to know, he would gladly share, but he partly wished that they didn’t. At least not right now. Right now he wanted to unwind and relax.

“Hey, I’ll be right back guys,”[/b] he said before he used his superspeed to take the presents to the tree.

Setting them all up nicely around the beautiful tree, he returned back to his teammates. Even though he had set up nearly a hundred presents around the tree in an orderly fashion, he had only been gone for a little over a minute.

“Sorry about that. I got tired of carrying that sack around with me,”[/b] he said as he placed his hands into his jeans pockets.
