It all started with one simple thing, the hunger for power. Onslaught, Darkseid and Hecate met somewhere near a nexus of the universes. They each wanted to destroy Earth and would do so no matter what. Pooling their energies they tried to merge the three universes, Marvel, DC and Hellboy's. However their power was more than even they could have expected. All universes seemed to come together. Soon the Avengers were fighting both with and against the Fraternity. Dr. Strange joined the B.P.R.D. The changes were so numerous, yet except for the three of them, no one knew. History itself had been rewritten. Those alive may be dead now. Those dead were now alive. Team and family loyalties created or severed. Soon the three launched their plan, a plan for all out war. Darkseid's Elite, Onslaught's various minions and Hecate's Ogdru Jahad joined together and war was declared.
Heroes from all sides joined together to try and fight this seemingly futile battle. But soon the heroes got an unexpected ally, the villains joined to save the Earth. Using the logic of, if the Earth's destroyed how can they take it over? Joker fought alongside Batman, Dr. Doom fought alongside the Fantastic Four. Nuada fought alongside Hellboy, Apocalypse fought along side the X-Men and so on. But even with their numbers now doubled if not tripled it proved futile. When all seemed lost, shots rang out and The Fraternity entered the fray, casting aside their rules for the well being of the planet. It was said even the gods themselves joined the fight.
When all was said and done miles and miles of New York were destroyed, the evil armies and their general dead or missing and thousands of humans dead. But the heroes and villains suffered badly as well. Of their army 2/3 were reported dead, 1/6 were listed as missing and the other 1/6 was maimed or wounded either physically, mentally or both. But now things were changing all over the world.
A registration for the heroes was about to go through before this battle happened. It was immediately struck down, after having seen the heroes and villains fight for them. But the mutants' world changed the most. After the fight the Friends of Humanity marched through the streets heading to Xavier's to attack a mourning school protected only by children and a few senior students. But when they humans got there they found the students on the front lawn, ready for a fight, some still crying and the youngest a whole years old. But before the humans could do anything they were attacked by civilians wanting to protect the mutants. Mutants are now welcomed with open arms, the Morlocks have even left their tunnels and joined Xavier's, the B.P.R.D. or the Avengers.
The Battle was 13 years ago and now it's 2023 and now chaos has begun to reign with no heroes to stop criminals or the villains who remained. But now the nights are filled with new heroes, the children of those who had given their lives. However, it is also filled with second generation villains. Teams have begun forming and a line has been drawn. But each side keeps looking over their shoulders, wondering if the Terrible Triad is truly gone or not. What will you do? Will you help rebuild a devastated planet or use the chaos to gain control?
