Slowly and carefully Kaylee-Anne dumped the contents into the sink and started to clean it out. She noticed Arik had sat back down and didn't seem to keen on going anywhere. She wondered if maybe he was just one of those people that slept all day and was up all night. Maybe that was why she didn't see him so much. Trying to come up with somethign else to say, she glanced at him. "Sooo..." She turned around and leaned back against the sink, folding her arms. "What are the classes you're taking? Do you like them?" She really was interested because she wasn't sure what ones she should take for her final year. She'd loved most of the one's she'd taken in the past and had come a long way with her abilities, but she still didn't have total control. Sometimes it was just hard for her to contorl her emotions, as shown before.

Arik just sat on his stool, not really being too bothered by anything. He never really was, actually, at least until someone said something about his family. Arik was not the man to mess with if you talked about the ones that he loved and the ones that were near and dear to his heart. Yes, Arik Creed did indeed have a heart. Sometimes it just seemed like it wasn't there. He was very much like his father in the way of not really showing how he felt for someone until he knew how they felt about him, or until they confessed how they felt about him. Arik could only hope that he'd find someone like his father had who understood him and his ways. Of course, Arik knew that his mother was a one of a kind woman and there wouldn't be anyone out there like her, and he accepted it, but he hoped that he would at least have the next best thing...if he did ever find someone anyway. It took his father centuries to find someone that loved him and wanted to be with him.
Arik heard a voice and looked up a moment. He then noticed that it was Kaylee-Anne who was speaking. She asked him what classes he was taking. Arik grinned a little. "I'm taking Mutant Defense 201 and Teamwork 102, he told her, not even batting an eyelash. "And I guess Defense isn't too bad, but Teamwork is going to be the death of me if one of my team mates, doesn't stop trying to impress the ladies and do what he's supposed to," he muttered bitterly and angrily. He didn't care that he wanted to impress the girls, that's fine, but not while they're in the middle of a danger room session or a training session for teamwork. That just gave Arik another reason to run off and do whatever he wanted to do whether it was right or wrong, he'd do it for himself.

Kaylee-Anne leaned against the counter, going up onto her toes and practicing a ballet stance. No she never took ballet. It was just a habit she'd had ever since she'd been tall enough to push herself over the counter. She rested her chin on the palm of her hand as she listened to what Arik said with a smile.
"I took the teamwork class last semester. But not the Defense one. I can imagine it being annoying with a show off. Who is it?" Kaylee-Anne had seen boys trying to use their powers to impress girls, none of them tried to impress her, but she didn't care. She never liked showoffs much anyway.
"Hey if you ever need teamwork training help, i've got a class that requires extra time spent in the danger room. I'm kind of behind in my logs actually..." She bit her lower lip, thinking about how she felt she was slowly slipping behind in all her classes with physical requirements.

Arik blinked at Kaylee-Anne curiously when he watched her lean against the counter and then stand on her tip toes like she was a ballerina or something. Arik wasn't sure if she was a ballerina or if she just did it out of habit, like Arik did sometimes. Usually Arik grew out and retracted his nails when he was bored or sometimes scratched random designs and symbols into wooden tables. Or he used to until someone found him doing it and yelled at him for it. He grew irritated with them, but he could see their point in it. It wasn't really his stuff to be destroying, well, for now. Arik didn't really care about it if it wasn't in the school. He'd destroy whatever he wanted while he was out and about without any of his New X teammates around, which he liked better. Sometimes Arik hated being part of a team, but at other times he loved it. He wasn't sure which he liked more or he'd have chosen between the two already.
When Kaylee-Anne spoke about his teamwork class and nodded a bit. He showed no interest or care in the fact that she had already taken the class. He heard her question about who it was and shrugged his shoulders. "Some punk," was his response. He was older than almost everyone in the school, but usually kept that information to himself. When he heard Kaylee-Anne offer him extra training help in the danger room and looked at her oddly a moment and thought about it. It wasn't long before he nodded, accepting her offer. "Alright. I'll make sure to take you up on that offer sometime," he agreed before looking over at the clock. It was only one in the morning. He didn't really care.

Kaylee-Anne nodded and opened her mouth to speak but a yawn came out instead. She covered her mouth as it all but took over her entire face and she suddenly really did feel tired.
"Sorry." She said, shaking her head and blinking her eyes afterward, "I guess I should probably try going back to sleep now." She put her feet back down on the floor and stretched slightly.
"It was nice talking to you. I hope to see ya soon then. Let me know when you've got time to practice." She said as she started shuffling towards the door.
"Goodnight Arik." She said, looking back over her should and giving him a smile.

Arik couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips when Kaylee-Anne yawned. He had to admit, it was kind of cute. When she apologized, he shook his head, trying to tell her that there was no need to apologize to him. When she said that she should probably go back to sleep, the night owl nodded. "Alright," he said before she said that it was nice talking to him and to let her know when he had time to practice. Arik nodded and watched as she shuffled towards the door to the kitchen. Arik smiled at her a bit and nodded in her direction. "Good night, Kaylee-Anne. Sweet dreams," he called to her softly before he looked back down at the counter in boredom. After a moment, Arik looked around and noticed that he was alone. "Now what?" He asked himself rather bluntly, not tired at all.
