Arik walked into the kitchen in Xavier's School for the Gifted and looked around. He yawned a bit, seeing as it was late at night and sniffed around. He listened and tried to sense if there was anyone around that he gave a crap about. Upon sensing that there was no one he knew around, Arik walked over to the fridge and grabbed a large carton of vanilla ice cream. He grinned animalistically before he began to make himself probably the best looking sundae he had ever seen in his entire life. He had his vanilla ice cream, even some strawberry. He had a cookie, a banana, and some chocolate sauce before he finished it off with some rainbow sprinkles. Once finished, Arik looked at his creation and nodded in satisfaction. He put his supplies away and gazed down at his artwork before he grabbed a spoon, his eyes never leaving his delicious sundae, and then approached it and dug in.
Within about ten minutes, half of the sundae was gone and Arik was happily approaching a full tummy. It was then, though, that he realized that someone he knew was approaching. Their scent was familiar to him, but not familiar enough for him to know them by name. He grew weary and gazed down at his perfection. He hoped they didn't want anything related to what remained of his sundae or he'd have a serious problem on his hands. Arik, being mostly an animal instead of an actual human being, was very protective when it came to his food, his family, and any potential mate that he would seek. He never enjoyed sharing, but then again, he knew that sharing was a nice thing to do. Perhaps the person who walked in wouldn't like sharing his delicious, late night desert that he had already feasted upon.

Kaylee-Anne hadn’t been able to sleep, as per usual. It was all because of her run in the other day with her biological fathers memorial. Why did it bother her so much that other people had been able to know him and she didn’t. She felt her whole life like she was so close to him she just needed to figure out the right path when all along she’d never get to see him. It broke her heart in a way.
Finally giving up on sleep she got up and made her way to the kitchen for a midnight snack. Dressed in pajama pants and an oversized t-shirt, she’d tied her hair up onto the top of her head in a kind of messy bun like she’d seen the girls do on those MTV reality shows. She didn’t know why they did it like that, but she figured there was a reason so she was trying it out.
Without her glasses she wasn’t able to see perfectly but she could see well enough to get around. She walked into the kitchen and stopped, seeing as someone else was already there. Her eyes widen in surprise and her cheeks flushed a little in embarrassment when she realized it was a guy and she was in her pajamas.
“Oh… er… hi.” She croaked, walking over to the fridge and opening it. She thought about having a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich.
As she did she glanced over at the boy again and squinted, he had a bowl in front of him of the remains of… ice cream? Mmm that might be good too…

Arik blinked at the person as they walked in. He raised an eyebrow at the young female as she stepped in to the kitchen and looked at him with wide eyes. He couldn't help the smirk that graced his features. It very much rivaled that of his father's. He took notice of the light flush in her cheeks before hearing her say hello. He watched as she walked over to the fridge and opened it. He took another bite of his sundae and saw her turn around and squint. He raised an eyebrow before looking down at his ice cream. He took another bite, though made it seem nonchalant. "Hello," was Arik's response as he took another bite of his ice cream. He wasn't about to ask her if she wanted any. The man didn't share when it came to his food. It was his father's animalistic instincts, though it often butted heads with his mother's kind, caring instincts. Sometimes the half feral mutant cursed having two parents who were so different, but he loved them so.
After a moment, Arik realized who she was. He had seen her on the New X team before. It had been a while since he was actually in practice sessions, which he knew Rogue would chew him out for later, but he'd use his mother as his excuse, as always, and even if Rogue called her up, she'd go with it. Danielle Creed would always help her baby boy, and Arik loved that about his mother not to mention, his father wasn't there to call him out or tell Rogue everything. Arik took another bite of ice cream and looked at the girl. "You're Kaylee, right? Kaylee Ann?" He asked rather bluntly, not caring if he scared the poor girl out of her wits. She was a member of New X, after all, she couldn't be scared all the time. Little did Arik know, he was talking to the daughter of the man his father enjoyed taunting.

Kaylee-Anne bent into the fridge trying to get a better look at her options. Then the guy spoke, saying hello and then eventually saying her name. When he did the bulb in the fridge suddenly exploded, sending little bits of plastic all over the place and causing Kaylee-Anne to pull back in surprise. She looked back towards the boy nervously, embarrassed by why her powers could make her do. She flushed even more and shifted on one foot and then to the other.
“Thanks right. Some people call me Shocks though…” She thought for a moment. “I’ve seen you before too right?” She didn’t know his name though. He’s seemed to be one of the types of guys that just produced the don’t talk to me I’m badass feel. Those kind of guys Kaylee-Anne usually made a point of avoiding.
Opening the freezer she pulled out the ice cream, deciding to follow his lead and make a banana split. She turned her back to him as she reached up into the cupboard for a bowl, she had to go onto her toes to do so. Inwardly she told herself ice cream wasn’t a good idea. She was a little overweight and terribly self-conscious about it. But one bowl couldn’t hurt right?
After she got what she needed she set about creating the treat, occasionally glancing at the boy at the table and wondering if the silence was awkward because of her or if it was just an awkward sort of silence…

Arik blinked confusedly when he saw and heard the lightbulb in the fridge explode. He was momentarily confused before she turned around and looked at him embarrassed. He grinned toothily when he realized that her powers had just malfunctioned on her, which made her uneasy and awkward around him. Arik couldn't help but find it somewhat amusing, especially when she blushed. When she spoke of her nickname, Arik nodded. He knew who she was now. Kaylee-Anne Swanson, or Shocks as they called her in New X. Arik smiled at her when she asked if she had seen him before. He chuckled somewhat and nodded, taking a bit of his ice cream. After finishing his bite he grinned. "The name's Arik, most people call me Lucifer," he explained to her, thinking that would ring a bell. He didn't usually like using his last name since people immediately pegged him like his father and most asked," Who would ever procreate with that?!" It was a rather upsetting question at times, but Arik understood. His mother and father were very much like beauty and the beast.
Arik watched a moment as the young female opened the freezer and pulled out ice cream. He took another bite of his sundae and watched as she made her banana split before he looked back down at his sundae and took another bite. He didn't really mind that she was in the kitchen or that there was some silence while he finished off his sundae. Arik was used to it actually. His home with his mother was usually silent, save for the occasional conversation that he had with her or that his father had with her. It was strange, despite their short tempers, the two of them hardly ever fought with one another. Of course, anyone outside the family and someone was going to die, but inside the family, the two knew each other very well. They knew what buttons to not press and what buttons to press. Plus, if Arik ever did hear yelling, well, let's just say it wasn't because of an argument... Arik was still scarred by the whole ordeal.

Kaylee-Anne took a thoughtful spoonful of her own creation and nodded as he said his name. "Lucifer? As in the Devil?" She looked upward as she sucked on the metal, savoring the taste. Finally she pulled it form her mouth and shook her head slightly.
"Never heard of you." She lied.
Looking back down to her bowl and continued to eat, remaining over behind the island and away from where he sat. She was very much so into giving people their personal space.
"So what brings you out here in the middle of the night beside your obvious craving for ice cream?" She still didn't look at him as she spoke and tried to get rid of the silence between them.

Arik blinked at the girl curiously as she nodded when he said his name and then asked as if he meant the devil. He shrugged. "I'm called that on occasion as well, but Lucifer or Arik will do," he said as he looked at her before he saw her shake his head. "Never heard of me? Well that's a shame, isn't it?" He joked playfully before finishing off his ice cream. He then put his cookie into his mouth and walked over to the sink to clean out his bowl using hot water. He then grabbed a sponge and soap and washed out his bowl and spoon properly. Once squeaky clean he put down the sponge and washed the dishes before he grabbed a drying rag and began to dry them off. Once that task was completed, he put the spoon and bowl back where they belonged as well as the rag.
Turning back to her, Arik pulled the cookie from his mouth and took a bite out of it. He heard her question and swallowed his bit of cookie. "Me? Why I am here? Where else would I go for delicious ice cream? I mean, for free anyway," he joked, grinning toothily at her like his father usually did when he made a joke. Arik wasn't quite sure why he did grin at her since she wasn't looking. He supposed it was just habit for him. He took another bite of his cookie before opening the fridge and pulling out a milk carton marked "Arik" and took a drink straight from it. He figured it was no biggie since, well, his name was on it at least. No one should be using his milk anyway. It was his, dammit, and Arik didn't share.

Kaylee-Anne looked over just in time to see his toothy grin and inwardly it made her shiver. He was an odd guy, apparently not only one of those badasses but one of those kind that thought he was funny. She blinked and turned away again as he cleaned up his mess. Well atleast he was polite enough to not expect other people to clean up for him.
She sighed, not saying anything in reply to that. Was her seriously here for free ice cream? Kaylee-Anne couldn't imagine anyone not wanting to take advantage of all the school had to offer people like them. She frowned at the though and then realized she wanted a cookie too.
She started searching through the cupboards. "Hey where'd you find the...?" She asked but then she saw the package and grabbed it. Being without glasses and unable to read she didn't see the name 'Arik' clearly written on the label and without a thought she reached inside to get one for herself.
"Nevermind found them." She said, not at all thinking there was a problem...

Arik hadn't seen her look over at him when he grinned at her. He sat down at the counter and took another bite of his cookie before she looked over at him. He saw her frown and then raised an eyebrow at her. He was confused for a moment before she started to look through the cupboards. What on Earth is she doing? Arik asked himself before blinkign when he saw that she had spotted his bag of cookies. His eyes widened a moment. "Uh," was all he could get out before she reached inside and grabbed a cookie. The half feral, half human mutant twitched when he imagined her hand groping around inside the bag for a cookie. He couldn't help but scramble over and grab the bag. He pulled it away from her and sniffed at the inside.
Arik practically gagged when he smelled her scent all over one of his cookies. He picked up a cookie and sniffed it before putting it back. He then picked up another and sniffed it. He cringed and quickly handed her the cookie before he closed the bag and put it back, this time out of sight. He looked back over at her a moment before he returned to his spot like it was nothing and sat down. Arik was sort of...a germaphobe when it came to his food, especially his cookies. Plus, those weren't just any cookies, those were cookies his momma made for him and as most of the New X team knew, Arik was definitely a momma's boy and he wasn't afraid to admit it to anyone either.

Kaylee-Anne really didn't know what to make of this boy, especially when she felt the bag get snatched from her grasp. She opened her mouth but no words came out, but merely stared as Arik started to... sniff the cookies? He grunted and growled a little before holding out one of the cookies he'd sniffed to her. Confused, she slowly took it. "Thanks..."
Bringing it to her lips she started to nibble on the cookie and found it to be one of the best she'd ever had. She slipped up into one of the barstools as she continued to enjoy her late night treat, glancing again over at the strange boy. He seemed somewhat bestial in his movements and voice.
"So how long have you been going here?"

Arik looked over at her a moment after she thanked him. He didn't reply. He just nibbled at the rest of his cookie before finally finishing it off. He drank more of his milk and got off his bar stool before putting his milk back. He eyed her warily a moment before he shut the door and walked back over to his seat. He sat down and just looked at her a moment as she started to eat at his cookie. He noticed how she was nibbling at it first before she actually began to enjoy the cookie. He couldn't help but smile proudly. Arik almost told her that his mother made those cookies, but then he decided against it. He wished to be stingy and keep that information to himself. Besides, he didn't need people asking him to get more of his mother's cookies for them. No way plus, once she'd find out, she'd probably slip something in them knowing her. She had an interesting sense of humor.
When Kaylee-Anne asked how long he had been going there, Arik couldn't help the laugh that escaped his lips. He then calmed himself. "My apologies. I don't go here. I never have, actually. This is the only place that I could go to when my mother sent me away for hovering over her life. I went to a human school all my life," he explained, not wanting to tell her about what his dad thought, but he didn't really care. Arik knew that his father wasn't a fan of humans, but because his mother had mentioned it, Victor went along with his love's request and their son was sent to a human school where he acted normal and no one ever pegged Arik to be a mutant, ever.

Kaylee-Anne had thought her question a reasonable one and so when he full out laughed at her she was surprised and somewhat annoyed. She hadn't said anything funny. She frowned as he went on to tell her he actually didn't go to the school and went to a public school. She shook her head, more confused now than before. "So... what? You just sneak in at night and eat the free ice cream?" Why would someone be there if they didn't want to be a student there and eventually a X-man?
She tilted her head to the side, trying to study what she could of this guy without her glasses. She'd met a lot of strange people in her day but he was quickly becoming one of the strangest. He'd probably be known to her from now on as 'The cookie sniffer.'

Arik grinned at Kaylee-Anne when she frowned at him. He chuckled. "Do you really think this school is so easy to break in to? And I suppose me telling you that I don't have ANY classes here is a complete lie. I have two of them at the moment, but nothing too bad, of course. I hope to teach her at some point, get some income for myself so I can stop mooching off of my family..." He shrugged his shoulders. "And, by the way, even if I didn't have the two classes, I'd still be here," he said, not revealing to her that he himself was an X-Man. He didn't feel like it was necessary to share at the moment, just like he felt it wasn't necessary to explain what his last name was or who his parents were. There was no point.
Arik blinked at her when he saw that she had her head tilted to the side at him. He raised an eyebrow at her a moment, wondering why on earth she was staring at him. He then shrugged it off, not really caring what she thought about him. He didn't really care what people thought about him, actually. Only what his mother thought of him. If she was proud of everything that he did and of everything that he had ever become then he would die a happy man...whenever that would be anyway. He wasn't actually sure when he was going to die just...at some point in his life someone would have to kill him, he supposed. He'd probably end up being older than his old man, if he was lucky, anyway.

Kaylee-Anne arched an eyebrow at him, not really getting it. So he broke into the school, one with extensive security to keep the bullies out and stopping anyone who wished to harm the students, and ate their ice cream and took two classes. The numbers didn't add up. Either this guy was pulling her leg or there was something she was missing.
In any case, she didn't say anything more but putt he rest of the cookie in her mouth and took a few more bights of the banana split before deciding she was full.
Carefully getting off the stool, she walked behind him to get rid of the soupy mess left in her bowl.

Arik blinked at the girl in front of him as she arched an eyebrow at him. He was confused. What was she confused about or concerned about anyway? He was a semi-student here at the school who enjoyed his ice cream sundaes and his mother's home made cookies. No, he didn't share his food, no he didn't share his clothes, and no, he usually didn't even share his living space. Arik tended to keep to himself, much like his father used to do when he was back in his prime. Not saying that Sabretooth wasn't still in his prime it's just, well, Arik was a bit younger than his old man was and well, his mother was getting up there as well. The two of them didn't have to worry about aging and could live forever if they ever saw fit, not that Arik minded. He'd much rather them live forever with him than die and leave him alone in the world.
Arik heard a crunching sound and snapped from his thoughts. He looked down and saw that the girl had eaten the rest of the cookie that his mother had originally made for him, and ate a few more bites of her banana split. He was kind of outraged that she would waste any of that deliciousness that was once an ice cream heaven. Arik watched as she got off the stool, rather carefully he noticed, and walk behind him. He figured she was heading to the sink to put her bowl away and got off the bar stool that he had been sitting on. He opened the fridge and put his milk back inside and then walked back over to the bar stool and sat down, wanting her to know that he wasn't going anywhere yet, even if she did leave. Usually Arik did this, just sat there and sort of guarded the place. It wasn't really his job, he just...did it.
