"Well it'd help if you called me Melody Daniel."
She said nodding her head. She could see his point but didn't care. Not everyone even know Ghostrider was female. Plus she only wore the duster when it was chillier out. Normally it was just jeans and a T-shirt, not to mention the boots and hat.
"I mean I'm not the only girl who dresses like this."
She said laughing as they walked. She was liking him so far, he was more interesting than some of her other team mates.
"I'd rather stand out than blend in with everyone."

“Okay then, Melody,”[/b] he said with a grin. “And for the record. You may not be the only girl who dresses like this where you come from, but this is Metropolis. We aren’t in the South. You walking around here like that makes you stand out. A lot.”[/b]
While he could understand the want to stand out in a crowd and be an individual, Dan was also one to be practical. Now that he had followed in his mother’s footsteps as being a hero and carrying on fighting the good fight, he had to be more mature now...well at least most of the time anyway.
“Luckily for you, I know a place where we can go that you’ll fit right in Mel,”[/b] he said with a grin as they turned the corner of the street.
Stopping, he pointed down the street as a country pub restaurant called ‘The Old West.’ It was Daniel’s favourite place in the world to eat. Although in his time, the restaurant was a huge chain with locations all over the United States and Canada. In this time however, the place was still a one of a kind located here in Metropolis.
Leading her to the restaurant, he held the door open for Melody when they entered. Immediately around them, the sound of live Country music played, and all the waiters and waitresses dressed in old western style cowboy outfits.
“You’re lucky this place exists in this time frame. Otherwise I would have been lost on where to take you out for dinner.”[/b]

"Well just between you and I most still believe GR to be man. I guess they assumed that if it was a woman there'd be, ya know, curves."
She said laughing a bit. That was what really helped her the most. And while her voice was somewhat feminine it wasn't hard to pass for a masculine voice, especially when she tried to make it sound that way. She simply shook her head as he led her to a restaurant. She rolled her eyes as they walked in and laughed slightly.
"Ya know I may be from the south but I do enjoy other places, for the record. You have issues with stereotyping, anyone ever tell you that?"
She asked laughing as she sat down in a booth.

“Even still, you’re jaw line is rather feminine. Flaming or not,”[/b] he said with a chuckle as he sat in the booth across from Melody. “Yeah well I love the food at this place and it’s not stereotyping if it’s true,”[/b] he added with chuckle.
Looking at the menu that was already pre-placed on the table for them. In a way Danny was and wasn’t surprised that the menu had changed in several centuries. It seemed that the good stuff never went out of style.
“Just as a recommendation, the T-Bone steaks here are absolutely phenomenal. I don’t know what spices they use, but I don’t care. Not to mention that they are huge too,”[/b] he said as he looked up at Mel past the menu.
As he looked through it some more, their waitress came over to their table. She was a young brunette in a flannel shirt wearing a pair of blue jeans and leather chaps. Looking over Melody, she quickly turned her eyes to Daniel, and smiled.
“So what can I get ya folks? Or do you just want some drinks to start off?”[/b] She asked with her gaze still on Daniel.

"I'll take a diet to start off with and.....are you even paying attention to me?"
If there was one thing Melody hated it was being ignored. Sure she was shy but while in conversation she should get some attention.
"Whatever I'll take a Sirloin with onions and then I guess it comes with mashed potatoes and daily vegetable, so that sounds good. And I want my steak rare."
She said before putting the menu down and leaning back in the booth. No doubt there would be a mistake on her order and hopefully for the server's sake Melody wouldn't lose her temper.

Daniel tried to stifle a laugh when Melody gave the waitress some flak. To the waitresses credit though she had written down everything Mel had said.
“Yeah. I hear you,”[/b] the waitress said as he finally turned her gaze off him to Melody. “Rare Sirloin with onions, mashed potatoes, and our daily vegetable. Now do you want you onions fried or just on the side? And Diet what?”[/b]
Daniel was quick to give Mel a look to make sure she didn’t lose her cool. He didn’t know if she was going to catch it or understand the facial expression or hand gesture, but he could hope.
“Excuse me dear. What is the daily vegetable today?”[/b] He asked quickly to avoid any scene, just in case.

"Sauteed and diet soda, duh. I don't know if you guys have Pepsi or Coke but I'll take either one."
She said beginning to get pissed. She leaned back trying to calm down. This server was beginning to piss her off. But she noticed Daniel's motion and nodded her head and began trying to calm down. Of course then she heard him call the server dear and kicked him in the shin under the table. Of course that had the opposite effect and just made her shin hurt.

“Okay. Onions sauteed and a Diet Pepsi. Anything else darlin’?”[/b] The waitress asked with a fake smile. “And the vegetable of the day is corn dear,”[/b] the waitress said to Daniel before Mel could answer.
“I’ll have the T-Bone steak cooked medium rare with corn, mashed potatoes, and a side of spicy fries and mozza sticks. For a drink I’ll have an orange soda,”[/b] he said answering her question.
After the woman finished writing his order, she flashed him a wink, and retrieved the menus before walking away. When she was away, Daniel raised a brow at Mel, and shook his head.
“Well that was smooth,”[/b] he said sarcastically.

"It's girls like that that piss me off. She was practically drooling over you and ignored me. I'm not giving her a damn thing for a tip. I wouldn't be surprised if she offers to sit on your lap and feed you."
She said shaking her head. The dumb girls who couldn't keep their hormones in check were always a cause of concern. Especially those like her who ignored other people at the table just because of her anatomy.
"At least my foot doesn't hurt anymore."
She said with a shrug before sighing a bit and leaning back in the booth.

“Well now you know better than to try and kick me under the table. I am the Teen of Steel after all,”[/b] he said with a grin. “And don’t let people like that get to you Melody.”[/b]
Flashing her one of his charming country boy smiles, he turned his attention to a male waiter who was approaching their table with their drinks. Setting them down before them, the young man was dressed in an outfit simular to their female waitresses. Smiling up at him, the young waiter smiled back, and winked as he checked Daniel out.
Immediately as a reaction, Daniel blushed, and turned to Melody with a look of panick. When the waiter walked away, Daniel relaxed, and took a deep breath. “Okay, seriously. Is there something in the water here or something?”[/b]

She smiled as the other guy came. Now this was more like it. But when the guy began checking Daniel out she began to narrow her eyes.
"Ok this is bull. First the dumb bimbo focuses only on you. Then the really cute guy, focuses only on you. Ya know guys would kill to have a date with me."
She said with a sigh. Although she couldn't even believe it herself. She had never had a boyfriend or even had a kiss before. She did secretly wonder if there was something about her or what. Guys just seemed to not notice her.
