Daniel was out roaming the city at night as usual. They'd gotten a few reports about someone fitting Nate's old and apparent new description that match what Rain had said. So as usual he was out hunting and hoping he would find him. But the air was filled with a mixture of scents that was making it hard to pick Nate's out. As he roamed Central Park he could feel his urge kicking in. He'd been good but now was finding it impossible to hold back for some reason. His fangs popped out and he watched a young woman walk through the park alone. Moving quickly and quietly he pounced on her, dragging her away and sinking his fangs into her neck.
He finished quickly and began to run away. She'd be left with little to no memory. But if she found him she'd feel drawn to him and he would be able to summon her if he needed to, but wouldn't. As he ran he stopped on the sidewalk noticing someone standing in his path seeming to be purposely blocking his path. His hand slowly moved towards the revolved on his waistband.

Mark walked silently through the park on his patrol, looking around as he walked along. He kept his eyes and ears stretched to their limits to watch for any wrongdoings going on. He frowned a little as he heard the sound of a struggle and a woman yelping in pain. He walked over slowly, watching as someone familiar ran out of the bushes. He stepped forward and crossed his arms over his chest as he watched Daniel going on guard. He walked slowly forward into the light so his old friend would recognize him.
"I hope you didn't kill her. Then I'd have to get nasty."
He smiled a bit as he watched Daniel. He knew the man had left the woman alive. He'd always done his best not to kill. He walked forward and held his hand out for a friendly handshake, smiling at his friend.
"How you been, Dan?"

He laughed a bit when he noticed it was Mark and his hand fell away from the revolver. Sure the government and BPRD had no problem helping him to make sure he didn't wind up in jail. However there was only so much they could do if he got in too far. But it was really only a couple times a month that he fed. And usually his men would let him drink in controlled sips so he didn't snap one day and drain them all.
"Wow, I'm glad it was you. I was beginning to think I was in trouble. Besides, you know I don't kill. Well, my prey I don't kill that is."
He said walking up to him and shaking his hand.
"How ya been Mark? I heard you're an Avenger now."

He nodded to his friend as he confirmed he didn't kill. Mark knew Daniel would never kill intentionally. And that he would do everything he could to keep his urge under control. He looked over at the bush the girl had been left behind.
"But I trust she's alright, yes? Will she need a hospital?"
He looked over at Daniel and smiled, nodding as he asked if he was in the Avengers.
"Yup, been on the team for a year or so now. I felt I could do more good on the Avengers instead of on the Xmen. I do miss some of the other students, though. I'm always visiting Kaylee. She's having such a rough time with her powers. I do everything I can to help her, but she's making little progress."
He started walking with Daniel, his hands in his pockets.

"She may have a sore neck in the morning but she won't remember a thing. I mean sure if she ever sees me then she'll be drawn to me, I could summon her if I wanted and she'll have dreams about me....special dreams."
He said with a shrug. So far he'd only turned one person, because he'd only died once. He was still in touch with her too, he had become her mentor. She seemed to be doing just fine.
"Oh, and if I ever die she'll become a vampire."
He said in an almost monotone voice as they walked. Like it was nothing major and the most normal thing for someone to say. Although for him it was pretty normal. He did usually talk about it, but only if someone asked, as they usually did.
"Yeah, I'm enjoying my time with the BPRD. I get to save the world on a regular basis and I'm mostly fluent in several demon languages."
He said nodding his head. He smiled as he mentioned Kaylee. He didn't know her that well since she joined as he was leaving. But he visited enough and was familiar with her on a simple basis.
"Yeah I ran into Rain and Liezel the other day. Liezel's the big bad leader of SHIELD but has an image inducer. And Rain...well my job requires me to find someone now before a war breaks out."

Mark listened silently, nodding. He knew all about Daniel's vampiric powers, and even from the first time they met, he'd done his best not to judge his friend. Daniel always avoided killing innocents, and never abused his abilities. Though every now and then, Mark wondered how many people were driven insane by the dreams of a strange blue cat man they don't remember ever meeting. The part that bothered him, though, was the fact that she could actually become a vampire someday. This made him frown slightly, though he tried to hide it. He knew Daniel didn't mean to do this, but that didn't make him like it any more.
Then Daniel changed the subject to the BPRD and he had to smile at Daniel bragging about saving the world.
"You're not the only one who gets to do that, you know. You're just bragging cause you get to do it in secret."
He chuckled and looked over at Daniel as he mentioned Rain and Leizel. He nodded a little. Everyone knew Rain if they'd gone to the school, she was one of the nicer teachers there, but he didn't know Leizel very well. All he really knew about her was that she was Nightcrawler's grandkid. He could understand why she would be using an Inducer. Then he mentioned his mission and Mark chuckled a bit.
"War is always about to break out. It just depends on what breaks the camel's back. What're you tracking?"

He shook his head as Mark asked for specifics.
"Sorry, but that's classified information. The only non-BPRD member that knows is Rain because well, she kind of has to."
He said with a shrug. He knew now it was even more serious for him to find Nate. Sure Rain seemed fine but all it would take was Ororo to get upset that the government let her daughter be attacked and declare war. Or pull all Wakandian support. Both would result in Daniel's termination from the BPRD and that could make him a criminal as well.
"Let's just say a former agent of ours stole something and attacked her. That's why I'm in New York, I'm tracking him. But what about you Mark? I mean I'm sure you've got some crazy missions in the process right now. Plus I've been curious, what's it like working for a psychopath?"
He asked referring to Nightwing. It wasn't a secret Nightwing was unstable and had a tendency to go too far with criminals and even take their lives when he felt it was neccessary.

Mark nodded a little at Daniel's answer. Of course it was classified, the government loved classifying things. He raised an eyebrow at mention of Rain, but didn't push it. He shook his head a little and looked over at Daniel.
"Just don't hesitate to ask for help, alright?"
He looked back at the sidewalk as they continued to walk, glad for someone to talk to on his patrol tonight. When asked about Nightwing, he thought for a moment, then shrugged a bit.
"It's not too bad. I don't agree with how Nightwing does things, but he understands that. He's never tried to force me out of my comfort range and I don't think he will. Really, he's not that different from any other leader. What about your superiors?"
He looked over at Daniel, cocking his head to the side.

"Trust me, we got it under control."
He said with a smile. Of course it was under control now, there was no one to control. He had no clue where Nate was and really, really had to find him before he lost his job. If he lost that he had no idea what he'd do. His job kept him out of jail.
"Yeah, my superiors give me a lot of room. They say do this and then let me accomplish it however I want to as long as it's quiet. I mean I've got my own men to command so that helps. I usually feed off of them though but now I'm going solo. Well till I get another mission."

He raised an eyebrow as Daniel spoke, but didn't argue. He knew his fellow mutant's definitions of 'under control', but he also knew that he wouldn't budge on his position, so Mark just left it at that. He looked around as they walked, glancing over at Daniel as he started to explain about his team and how he worked with the BPRD. He nodded a little as he listened, interested in the fact that his team willingly allow him to feed. He just hoped the BPRD wouldn't take advantage of the vampire curse and kill Daniel for some super army of some kind.
As they walked, he stopped and lift his head as a scream rang out through the night. Instantly, Mark's armor covered his body and wheels grew from the bottom of his feet to move him along faster. He didn't wait for Daniel, he knew his friend could easily keep up. Mark raced through the park, leaping over bushes and ducking under branches to get to whoever was in trouble. He skidded to a stop, staring across the street as he looked to see what the trouble was. He narrowed his eyes as he spotted a bank. There was nobody else around to have screamed, so there must be something going down in the bank. Maybe someone witnessed the robbers going inside and was taken hostage. He turned to Daniel, then back at the bank.
"I think someone's trying to rob the bank."

He of course heard the scream and the following scuffle thanks to his senses. But it appeared as though Mark had also heard the scuffle and took off running, or rolling. Daniel easily kept up, using his enhanced agility to jumps over bushes and duck branches and generally move around anything else that might be in his way. He stopped beside Mark and sighed. He knew damn well he couldn't go in unless it was paranormal in some way. But then he smirked as an idea came to mind.
"I think that might be paranormal in nature, don't you?"
He asked adding extra inflection hoping that Mark would understand what he was getting at. He grabbed his staff of his back and with a flick of his wrist it extended.

Mark examined the bank to find ways for the two of them to get inside and keep the hostage or hostages safe. He looked over at Daniel as he asked if Mark thought it was Paranormal, and grinned a little behind his metal mask.
"I do believe so. I may need some Paranormal assistance. Can you see inside through the windows? I think they only have one hostage, but we need to be sure."
He held his hand out and a staff much like Daniel's grew in his hand. He spun it in his hand and waited for Daniel's response. He tried hard to see through the glass, but his vision wasn't as good as his friend's.

"Well then. As an agent for the BPRD it's my job to assist you in anyway I can."
He said nodding his head very monotone like. He laughed a little bit afterwards, enjoying how rehearsed it sounded. Although it had to naturally. He looked through the glass and his ears twitched as he tried to pick up on what was going on inside.
"I got three hostages inside and about 4 gunmen inside."
He said nodding his head. He then began to examine the area, he had to find a way in but so did Mark. And he knew it'd be best if it wasn't the same entrance.
"I'll take the roof door, you're on your own tin man."
He said flicking his chest, Daniel's claw making a 'ting' sound before Daniel jumped and began scaling the side of the bank and going to the roof.

Mark chuckled at Daniel's official response, then nodded as he named how many people were inside. He looked over as Daniel tapped his chest and chuckled, watching as Daniel headed up to the roof. Mark wheeled over to the door and put his back to the wall beside the door, turning and looking into the bank. At this distance, he could see well enough, and he was waiting for the best time to burst in. Finally, three of the burglars were back in the vault, and the fourth one was off his guard, his finger nowhere near the trigger.
He slammed his elbow into the door and knocked it open, leaping in and throwing a ball of metal at the man guarding the hostages. It hit the man in the chest, not hard enough to kill him, but he'd have a few broken ribs and would be winded for a while. Once the man was on the ground, Mark stepped to the side and called to the hostages.
"Out, now!"
The three people leaped to their feet and scrambled out the door, too frightened to stop and thank him. The burglar was starting to get up, but Mark stepped on the gun, flattening it, and the metal ball grew long enough to tie the man's arms and legs up.

Naturally the commotion drew the attention of the other thieves. They left one in the vault to continue collecting money while the other two went to investigate. They walked through the doorway and saw Mark and raised their guns. But soon Daniel pounced on one man landing on his shoulders with both his feet and hands. He clutched the man's shoulders with his hands and swung his feet into the man's back as they fell back. He then catapulted the man face first into a desk. Daniel did a kip up and looked at the other man, now torn between who to shoot. He used that moment's hesitation and cracked him in the back of the head with his staff.
"I suppose when you're covered in metal subtlety isn't a strong suit."
