He had just finished washing the blood from his hands as he strolled into his living room. Sitting down in one of his plush chairs, he smiled to himself. His plan had been working better than he had hoped it would. Astra was self destructing and she had him to thank for it.
Rubbing his temples, he reached out with his mind to locate Astra. It was no surprise that she was still in California. Not that really minded, the closer she was to him the more control over her he would have. Once he was sure that he would be able to jack into her brain, he did so.
Closing his eyes tightly, he focussed as hard as he could to fight through Astra’s mental barriers without alerting her of what was being done. Once he was in though, he knew he’d be able to relax a little. The hardest part was getting past all her damn defenses, but it was to be expected from the daughter of Charles Xavier. After several long minutes, he was finally in, and influencing her.
The fall of New X will begin with you Astra. You alien bitch.

Rain was relaxing after a hard Danger Room session. She had shifted unto a small black cat to stay better balanced in the tree. She was taking a cat nap to regain some of her energy. Her tail was slowly twitching side to side as she slept. Her ears twitched every time there was a sound nearby.
Rain, if needed, would be awake in an instant. The children around her had learned that Rain could react faster then most upon waking and take in her surroundings almost instantly. The sun was shining as Rain slept in the tree. There was a soft breeze that would rustle her fur as it passed by.

(Alright, we have somewhat even teams, time to get started.)
Astra stood silently in her bathroom, leaning on the sink as she held her head in one hand. Another headache had just hit her like a train engine. She popped open the bottle of pills and swallowed a couple, groaning a little as she did. These headaches had been coming more and more often since her fight with Elysia. She had no idea why, but she was starting to think that it wasn't going to just go away. She lift her head and stared into the mirror. She looked like hell. She felt like hell. Maybe it was time to man-up and go see one of the healers at the mansion. Sighing, she stood up straight and turned, heading outside.
Before long, she was airborne, her wings spread out to catch the thermals rising from the city. She flew swiftly to the mansion, her headache only letting up a little as she went. Finally, the mansion came into view and she angled down towards the lawn. Landing lightly, she smiled to some of the students, then looked around for Rain. She figured it'd be best if she let the leader know she was here. Walking along, she looked up as she sensed her friend, and smiled as she saw the cat sleeping in the tree.
"Comfortable up there?"
