Inside a large warehouse on the wharf several shady cars with all kinds of people gather. They slip quietly inside, seeming almost to disappear into the dark. Inside a man with a clip board check names of approved guests. All other entrances are heavily guarded and there are also surveillance cameras. Apparently the operator of the whole thing paid a high price for maximum security. But then again who wouldn't with what would be sold that night. Slaves on the black market were a high commodity and everyone there paid a high price just to be able to bid.
There were two seconds, the bidding floor, where people of lower classes and less money were aloud to watch and bid, and then a second floor booth where the real bidders waited. In their own private box, they could sit and watch without their faces being seen.
It was in one of these boxes Ornella sat and waited for the bidding to begin.
The first girl was dragged onto the stage in front of the jeering crowd. The auctioneer greeted the guests and spoke of the "pretty item". She was blond, and her head lulled forward as she struggled to stay on her feet. She'd been dressed in a silk white and sheer gown.
The thugs that moved the girls put her in chains as the bidding began at one million dollars.
Apparently the girls were drugged before being put on the block.

Deadpool was in the back of the first floor with his arms folded up looking around. He was looking around for something specific, or more specifically someone specific. He was looking around for Kaylee, wondering were she was and what they had done to her. He waited a moment when he saw the first girl came on to the stage. He noticed her trying to stand on her feet alone and that wasn't even enough. "Well guess there shouldn't be any surprises when the little shock absorber come out I suppose" he said with a serious face.
Unfolding his arms he walked he walked among the crowds of people trying to see if there was an exit or something. If she was going to be on the block he most likely didn't want to see it. He then paused a moment and wondered were they were keeping the girls. He looked around for door way leading to the back were the girls would have been held at. He then noticed two guys blocking a door way and raised a brow at the site. "Wow, I wonder which door it is, is it the one that says exit or the one with two giant guard dogs blocking the entrance guess I will never find out" he said shrugging as he smirked.
He then started to walk back waiting to see if any heroes would come in and distract everyone enough to see if she was back there. He didn't want anyone to know he was maybe going to try and save her, would be bad for his rep and business.

He had known about the auction now for quite some time. It was one of the useful pieces of information he got from Maroni’s thugs. He had made sure that the thugs wouldn’t be able to spill the beans about revealing the information to him by using pressure points to cut off their vocal cords. They would be able to talk again, just not for another week.
So there he was on the roof of the warehouse watching everyone enter. He heard about the reports of the kidnappings in California, New York, Gotham, and even in Miami and it didn’t take long to put them all together. What he didn’t know however was who the mastermind of the whole thing was. So all that he had to do was get in, bring down the auction, find out who set it up, and throw them behind jail so that he could get back to patrolling. He just hoped that the other rumors about other heroes making their way to Gotham was just that, a rumor. He hated others working in his city...especially when they didn’t tell him about it first. Not only was he protective of Gotham, but it also had to do with professional courtesy.
So all it was now was the waiting game. Soon everyone would be here and then he could make his way inside to do what he did best. It wasn't going to be easy, there were a lot of thugs with a lot of guns, but he was trained by the greatest heroes the world had ever known and there was nothing that he wouldn't be able to handle.

Hunter arrived casually late, strolling in with some of his people. As he walked in he and Selena got checked off and they went into his private box while the rest of his men waited down below, still armed but secretly so. A couple of them were mutants so that did assist him in being more 'secretive'. He sat down in his box and shook his head as he listened to the bidding on a mere human.
"So boring...."
He could get women, undrugged and willingly. He didn't need to buy them but the bidding was still going on. It was kind of weird really. But then again some of the people here also represented men with strange tastes.

What was going on. Kaylee felt like she was floating on a cloud, no, more like soaring really. Yes that was it, soaring over hills. It was wonderful. She stumbled on her feet was two sets of large hands grabbed onto her and gruffly guided her into a room of other slave girls and hung the chains of her cuffs on a hook.
What did she care? She didn't mind that her pajamas had been taken and replaced by a scandalously small yellow bikini or that she was moments away from becoming a slave forever.
"Bring out the next one!" A gruff voice said, but she didn't hear it.
The air seemed fresh and the view from up high was lovely. Kaylee muttered and stumbled as she was gruffly forced through a door and into the auction hall....
"A rare treat Ladies and Gentlemen." The auctioneer announced, "A young mutant girl. Do not worry, the collar on her neck keeps her powers at bey, but I have it on good authority she id fresh and untouched. What do I hear for her? Two million? Three?"
Kaylee frowned and wavered on the stage she'd been forced up. What was that loud sound? It was like the ocean only louder. How could she hear the ocean from being up so high?

Hunter's ears perked up at the mention of a mutant. Sure she was young but she was hot. Plus she'd be his, that was a huge plus. He leaned forward and smirked as she walked in.
"3 Million."
He said waving his hand briefly. Now he'd have to sit back and wait for other bids to come in. And no doubt other bids would come in. This was a rare and prized thing. Although if she was only the second or third, what else did they have in mind? Perhaps he'd build his own X-Men. His father sought to control them but went about it all wrong. Hunter would be able to control them, because he would own them.

Post by Elysia "Red X" Todd on Nov 9, 2010 4:40:12 GMT -6
Elysia looked around backstage. She was probably the only woman who wasn't drugged back here. She waited for them to take her on. Of course, everyone knew that Red X was a woman too, not that she minded. It was best that way now that she had thought about it. No one would probably dare bid on Red X if they thought that he was a man. Of course, more men were probably going to bid on her because she was a woman but, alas, Elysia didn't mind too much. After all, she was going up as a thief for hire, not a...whatever these other girls were being put up for sale as. Of course a part of Elysia wanted to leap in to action and stop everything, but she knew better. Her Teen Titans side would remain stifled until she saw fit to bring it out into the open. Not too many people knew that Red X played both sides of the field, but she supposed they would all know now.
Elysia looked up towards the front and saw the scared looking mutant girl on stage. She was obviously drugged. Elysia could tell while inside of her Red X suit. She shook her head a moment and sighed, though it came out static sounding, not that she cared of course. It wasn't that big of a deal to her. She used her voice modifier for a reason, mostly to make sure that no one could ever pinpoint her voice. It wouldn't be too hard to find Red X if you knew what her voice sounded like, especially if you were to randomly call her up on the phone. That would seem rather unfortunate...for you anyway. Red X wasn't the kind of person to just suddenly not come after you after hearing her voice or seeing what she looked like under her mask.

Post by Selena "Pandora" Marx-Napier on Nov 9, 2010 4:55:06 GMT -6
Selena had walked in with Hunter Romuluson as his assistant, of course. She had been checked off of the list and brought up to a secret box where Hunter could buy anonymously. She looked around the area, somewhat amused by the current state of things. She was interested in what all was going on. She looked down at the stage area where a young girl was pushed out. She glanced at her employer and noted his distaste for whatever it was that was on the box as of right now. Selena took a look at her and shook her head as well. She would find a way to give one of her goons the go ahead to bid on anyone that she could have possibly wanted for a goon. She wasn't looking for anything extremely special, just a more...trustworthy and...intelligent goon. That's all she actually cared for, besides being here for Hunter of course.
Selena watched as that girl was taken away and another girl was tugged on stage. She raised an eyebrow at this clearly drugged girl as well before blinking when she heard that the girl was mutant. Her eyes shot to Hunter a moment, knowing that he'd more than likely bid on her and of course, he did. Selena smirked somewhat, knowing that her employer would more than likely also win her. She shook her head a moment, sighing a bit, though not tiredly or irritably, as she stood next to her employer. There weren't any other seats besides Hunter's, not that Selena minded. She wouldn't mind standing next to Hunter, especially if it made him feel more empowered, after all, he was her boss, was he not? Of course, if Selena knew that Hunter thought that the mutant he was currently bidding on was hot, she probably would have seethed...

He had managed to slip inside without being seen and made his way along the catwalk through the shadows. He had been keeping his eyes on the auction that was going on below that he hadn’t noticed that several men were approaching his position. By the time he did notice, it was too late, and the men were already charging at him. Leaping into the air, he managed to flip over one of the men who rushed him. He didn’t make it all the way however as the man reached up and grabbed his cape. With a force he had never felt before, the man threw Batman down against the metal catwalk with a thud. Rolling onto his back, he kicked the man in face, and kipped up. Looking at the three men, he noticed something very different about them. All three men were nearly the size of Bane pumped on Venom which meant only one thing. “Mutants,”[/b][/I] he muttered under his breath. He wasn’t expecting this level of security for one of Maroni’s gigs and it seemed now that it was going to cost him. Looking between the men, Batman took a stance, and waited for them to make a move. It didn’t take long for them to do so. The one who had threw him to the ground rushed him quickly. With two more mutants at his back, Batman knew there was nowhere to run. So when the thug swung at him, the Dark Knight used the man’s momentum to throw him into the other mutants. Tumbling out of arms reach of the men, he reaching into his utility belt, and pulled out several batarangs. Before he had a chance to throw them however the other mutants had moved past their fallen comrade and rushed him. One of them managed to hit him square in the jaw and launched him twenty feet across the catwalk. Don’t know how much more of this I can take. These guys hit harder than anything or anyone I’ve fought before.[/I] Pulling himself up from the metal floor, the mutants were on top of him again. One of men grabbed him in a full nelson and spun him around so that another mutant could punch him square in the chest. He could feel his armor shatter from the impact of the blow. Just as the mutant was about to punch him again, the one who had first charged him stayed the mutant’s hand. “No. The boss will want him alive. He’ll fetch a lot of money on the auction block.”[/b] Laughing at Batman’s expense, the mutant punched him again in the head. The force of the blow was enough to make everything go fuzzy and Batman felt consciousness floating away. No! Not like this! It can’t end like this![/I] *** He could hear voices around him faintly, followed by some laughter. Then a cold hand touched his jaw and lifted his head. Opening his eyes, he saw the fuzzy outline of a man standing before him. “The Bat goes on the block next after the girl. He’ll make me a bucketload of cash,”[/b] the familiar Italian voice of Maroni said before he drifted back to unconsciousness. I'm sorry I let you down dad.[/i]

The bids were getting higher and higher. Had she been aware of what was going on perhaps Kaylee-Anne would have done something rather than just stand there and sway a bit. In any case, finally the sound of the gavel falling made her jump.
"Sold to our box guest number 305." The auctioneer said and Kaylee-Anne was carted back through the door.

As the girl was sold Ornella couldn't help but smirk. It was the highest bidded item of the night so far, and the stakes were only going to get higher. She reserved her own bids, waiting for the perfect item.
Actually, Ornella didn't have any intention on bidding on human lives. Slaves really were not her thing. However, there was rumored to be a few artifacts that had her interest and since one was not invited to the boxed seats without bringing somethign expencive, Kaylee-Anne had been the unfortunate volunteer.
"A new Lot ladies and Gentleman. Apparently we have the Batman here. I'm told this is the very vigilantie that stalks the streets of Gotham at night. A party crash who's found himself on the block! What do you say fellows? Shall we see who wants his mask the most?"
The floor crowd erupted into wild howls and the bidding began.
Ornella sat up in her seat, actually interested for once. She could see the man but it was doubtful he was the real Batman....
Then again...
She lifted her finger and the bid was made. Five hundred thousand dollars.

"Yes!"
He said with a smirk, showing more emotion than he normally did. She would be the first member of his X-Men team, or New X as they went by now. Sure some had tried forming their own teams of them but had disastrous results. He would make a team insanely loyal to him, no matter what. He knew a couple of his men were going to procure their new 'partner' now. But his ears perked up as he heard they had Batman, however he was most likely false. But just in case...
"One million."
He said calmly, trumping the 500 thousand bid made by someone else. It'd be fun to own Batman, real or not. Plus he could use him as an early Christmas present for Pandora.

Around him he could hear the roar and of the crowd when the voice announced that the Batman was on the auction block. His eyes fluttered open and he saw that he was strapped down to a chair and that they had removed his utility belt from him. Shaking the grogginess from his head, he looked around the large room. He wasn’t surprised that he was surrounded by two way mirrors. He imagined that those who sat behind them didn’t wish to be seen by the other patrons who were attending.
Clenching his fists, he pulled at the bindings, and found that they were stronger than steel. From what he could wager, they were made of titanium. Had they been steel he’d have been able to break free, but it seemed that Maroni wasn’t going to take any chances. Not again anyway. Not after the bust that he and the Blue Beetle had done of his drug deal with the Signorettis from New York.
Must focus. There has to be a way out of this. Have to keep a clear head. Work through the pain Thomas. Forget the broken ribs, fractured sternum, and throbbing headache. You can do this. Just remember what your father taught you. Now think. I obviously can’t pick the locks with everyone watching me, that would be too obvious. No. I need to wait until the time is right.[/I]
Then he heard a bid being made for him for five hundred thousand dollars which was quickly followed by a bid of one million. From another box someone else made a bid of one point five million. He had to keep the bidding going, at least for now until he was certain that when he freed himself that he would be able to escape.
“Is that all you thugs got?”[/b][/I] He asked in obvious pain. “Guess you bastards are bigger cheapskates than I thought.”[/b][/I]

Ornella sat up in her seat, very interested now. The bids were going higher and higher. She raised her hand, four million dollars, no doubt it would go even high. In any case she had a glint in her eye and she wasn't about to give up. She had pleanty of money and some favors to call in if it got too rich for her blood. Again she was trumped and she bid again. Five millon fivehundred thousand dollar...

Post by Rain T'Challa on Nov 13, 2010 1:24:19 GMT -6
Rain made it into the auction undetected. She was just another stray cat hanging around when she found where the actually auction was taking place. She saw who it was they were bidding on caused her blood to run cold. She knew who it was, Kaylee. Rain quickly scooted out and quickly found a place to hide. She found a discarded shawl and used it to hide her hair and eyes. She did not stand out being hidden in the place.
By the time she got back to the auction area Kaylee had been sold. She then saw who it was that was being sold. It was the Batman. 'Not on my watch is he being sold to gangsters' Rain said to herself. She activated and emergency signal that only a few could detect it, those who had a receiver given to them.
Rain did a quick calculation and knew that the only way she could get Batman out was by 'buying him' herself. She figured the best way was to make the price jump and stun the others. Rain decided that it would be best to disguise her voice and shift it slightly. With a thought Rain shifted enough her voice would actually sound more throaty. "Seven million!" she shouted with a rougher voice then normal, it was also a little deeper and scratcher then normal. Only some would be able to figure out the voice belonged Rain. Rain was hoping Batman would be one of them. She got a signal that at least some backup was on the way. There were a couple records of her talking partly morphed with the same scratchy voice.
